We're here!

...I've just been sick! :(

Got to love having a stomach bug for 3 days and counting. At least today I'm up and moving around a little more - I was resting for 36 hours straight this weekend! I don't handle that very well at all since I'm always staying busy busy.

Not much to share. Eric has finals coming up and it was a wet and rainy weekend. I'm crossing my fingers on good luck for a potential "opportunity" that opened up! ;) I can't share the details here and I don't have much news yet, but keep me in your prayers! It's SUPER good though if I get it!

More updates soon when I get to feeling a little better!

Weekend Update

Back in Fayetteville, Kim had prom this weekend. Doesn't she just look gorgeous?!...

On Sunday, Eric and I were able to squeeze in a quick trip to the park between meetings, projects, etc. Eric took off on his bike this time (unfortunately, mine won't fit on the car bike rack), and I got in 2.3 miles of walking.

{If anyone knows how this bike below might work on a bike rack, let us know! Eric says it needs a crossbar to attach it. The cuteness of it is more important than the functionality, of course. Hence why I bought it. ;) }

Since I got that exam out of the way, I'm looking for a new "project" to work on. I think I'm going to take on running again if I can find and maintain the energy! Perhaps I should sign up for a 5K to hold myself to it. I never had a problem with the "Freshman 15", but the "Newlywed 9" has gotten to me, for sure! My friend Emily and I just blame it on the fact that we're now working women and sit at a desk most of the day (Although I can't really blame it on that because it's my fault that I don't always workout at night). ;) At least in college we probably walked 3+ miles on campus each day! I'm considering buying these fun shoes to help motivate me... I think it's about time I retire the pairs of New Balances that I've had for over 6 years!

I've been doing The Shred video, I just had to put it on hold some last week because of studying. My goal is to move onto level 2 within the next week. Eric is probably going to get a kick out of hearing me scream at the TV since I'm a little out of shape, LOL. I've been going to yoga class on Fridays since January, and this past week was the first time I felt sore afterwards. My teacher was having us sit with one leg stretched out and then the other bent and then she was having us lift the bent leg as if we were going to put it behind our head. Yeah, I definitely had sore knees that night! I'll have to take a picture sometime to illustrate that pose.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Quick Update!

Thought I'd post a quick update before I get back to studying! It's been a crazy week for me filled with 6+ hour study days, meetings, etc! Definitely ready for Saturday to be here so I can (hopefully pass and) put away this mile high stack of reading and notecards!

Last weekend we took advantage of the nice weather and ate out on the porch and tried out a new (to us) park in town for a good 2.3 mile walk...

We attempted to get some fresh food from the Farmer's Market, but unfortunately we got there a little too late. Eric volunteered at the food bank.  One of Eric's MHA friends' wife, Anna, and I went to Marshalls and HomeGoods outside of St. Louis (my new favorite places of course!) and then we had a little "double date" dinner.

Today has been a bit of a bittersweet day - it's my Grandmeo's 93rd birthday, yet the 4th anniversary of my Granddad passing away. I've definitely been thinking about them a lot today!

Back to studying! Say a huge prayer for me Saturday, please! I would prefer to pass and not lose the big exam fee. :)

Catch-Up on Life

Hi! We're still here! :) It's been a crazy week and it's only going to get crazier as the month goes on. Two weekends ago we went back to Fayetteville for a short trip. Eric got to see all 3 of his college roommates - quite an event since three of the four are not living in Fayetteville right now.

We also got to visit with my great-grandmother again, who turns 93 (Mom, correct me if I'm wrong!) next week! Isn't that just amazing?! Here she is at the wedding with mom and I:

And last weekend for Easter we went to Memphis! I took off on Friday so it was nice to have a slightly longer weekend. We did a lot of shopping and wedding planning for Kent and Dreama (almost a month away! We can't wait to see the whole Leemis family and Michiganders again!). I thought this picture was pretty hilarious of everyone in line at the fabric counter at JoAnn's:

In other news, Eric has an internship!! He found out yesterday and it's here within the hospital system at the quality center. Sounds like it's something he's going to enjoy, and we were super glad it's in Columbia - no extra living or gas costs! :) He's got several big projects due the next few weeks until the end of the semester, so he's definitely staying busy!

I'm taking the LEED exam next weekend so I've been studying 5+ hours a day myself. I'm hoping to get that professional accreditation to keep on top of things in the design field. Of course, when I scheduled it, I was looking at a pretty slow month and thought I would have plenty of time to study, but since then 2 art events came up, an inquiry about designing a website, an Etsy order and a couple other side design projects! Talk about a lot to do! (PS- my newest blog post got published yesterday here)

Gotta love studying...here's my huge box and a half worth of notecards! And I thought I was done with school... :)

And it's finally looking like spring here! (Below is outside of Memorial Union on campus)

Here's Eric in front of the columns - I find it funny that he's wearing an Arkansas shirt in front of the Missouri sign! :)

And with spring comes the swarms of wasps. In our apartment, too. No joke - we've found 3 (1 dead, 2 alive) in our apartment in the last week, plus several on our porch. I guess each season brings it's own different critters to our place! (Ladybugs, wasps, a mouse... what's next?! And we don't live in a bad apartment either!)

More to come next week for sure! Along with photos after another trip to HomeGoods - this time the big store near STL! ;)
