House Progress

We've been making more progress on the house the last few weeks. I'm hoping we can get almost everything fully done and decorated by the end of the summer. Here are some updated shots!

Guest bathroom:

Entryway (soon to include a settee!):

Master bedroom (long way to go! Chairs to reupholster, art to find...):

But I did get this chair reupholstered (you may recognize it as being yellow before):

Living room (now with a Memphis print that I got Eric for Christmas):

We're not making much progress on the porch since little doggies love to chew. I don't know how much longer this bench is going to hold up...

And I should have known better than to put that rug out:

We painted an accent wall in the kitchen today - more photos soon!

And seeds for the garden will be started soon:

This frame will get some pop...

And I just had to leave you with these cuties being so good!

Christmas 2011

We had a good time in Fayetteville back over Christmas. Kim was back from Austria (whew! and yippee!), and Macy got to meet Drake. The dogs just had a ball!

Happy One Month with Us, Macy!

(I’m about 12 days late on this!)

The past month has completely gotten away from us between the dogs and the Christmas hustle and bustle. It’s hard to believe we’ve already had Macy for a month! Since I’ve been bad about blogging about her, I’ll get you up to speed -

Macy’s kennel cough was a total mess for about 4-5 days after we got her. She was throwing up EVERYWHERE. About the 4th day we had her, she threw up over a dozen times just in the time it took for us to get ready for work. Definitely not the best way to start things out, especially mixed with her not being house-broken. Within a week and a half, she was at the vet one all day because she decided to jump up on the kitchen counter and eat 5 of my raw biscuits that were waiting to go in the oven. Let’s just say that dough can rise in the stomach, and I was a little stressed out! Thankfully, it turned out to be nothing. It has since been a whirlwind of two energetic dogs in the house. Macy and Lily play together great (minus a few rare fights, which we’re still trying to figure out and get over), and Macy loves rawhides and she loves to take Lily’s rawhide when she walks away from it (Lily doesn’t seem to mind!). She’s pretty quiet for the most part. For the longest time, we couldn’t even really get her to smile and she seemed sad, but I think we’re over most of that now. She does get carsick a lot (Christmas was not fun when she threw up within 20 minutes all over her part of the backseat!), and she has some separation anxiety issues when we leave her in her crate (to the point that she escaped from it Christmas eve!). We’re still working through that, but other than those issues, things are going great. Both of them started doggie training classes two weeks ago, and have picked up quite a bit. Now I’m just stressed about boarding her at the vet when we’re gone in a few days – hopefully she can get through without barking all night long!

Here are a few new photos – more to come soon!
